Hope is a cognitive process that can be enhanced, modeled, and, more importantly, restored during a crisis. This presentation will highlight research on practice models adopted, the evidence-based training Together Facing the Challenge, and Hope Centered Caregiving to demonstrate how caseworkers, foster parents, counselors, and others can adopt simple strategies that enhance hopeful thinking among children and youth. Finally, the presentation will provide specific methods that can be used immediately to increase hopeful thinking and improve essential child outcomes.
